Jason Birnie Jason Birnie
LMP2 Driver

Jason Birnie, the older brother of fellow Fischer Motorsport team-mate Kyle Birnie, is a native of California and by that grew up loving Laguna Seca as one of the local race tracks, which remains one of his favorite tracks today.

His mother's side of the family - his uncle, grandpa and grandma at one point - was into autocross with his grandpa being a national champion too. Jason's and Kyle's uncle continues to race Porsche's and did so together with their grandpa until his passing.

Also Jason's dad rode motocross growing up himself. Jason and Kyle often got to go to the track with their dad when they were younger, so motorsports has always been a huge part of the Birnie family.

In 2020 Jason started into the world of sim racing on iRacing, focused mostly on GT and sports car sprint races. In January 2021 he made his debut with Mayer Simspeed Performance in the 2021 iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona and immediately went on to claim ninth place in the endurance race. He followed that up with a sixth place finish in the 2021 iRacing 12 Hours of Sebring in March of the same year.

Away from the race track he enjoys golfing, like his brother but also photography.
