Preview: iRacing NEC Round 7

Fischer Motorsport returns to its home track, the Nürburgring, this weekend for the third-to-last NEC Round of the year. Round 7 promises to be just as exciting and the No. 84 Porsche team will look to get win number two.

Coming off a third-place finish in last month’s NEC Round 6, Niclas Pedersen and Benjamin Fischer will once again team up in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) to take on the “Green Hell” and competition.

“The weather looks perfect, it should be a fun race. Obviously, it’s the Nordschleife. It’s always great to be back here.”, said Pedersen.

Currently holding 31st place in the championship of the Porsche Cup class, contention for the championship this year is no longer a realistic goal for the team.

Still, there is always the quest on picking up the next win. The team has already won one NEC race this year, in late May.

“We’re just racing for wins right now. It’s definitely a bit different without competing for the championship in general, but once you’re in the car it doesn’t really matter anymore. We always give it all we got, either way”, says Fischer.

Round 7 of the 2022 iRacing Nürburgring Endurance Championship is scheduled to start Sunday at 15:40 CEST / 09:40 am EDT.
